Content freshness
Content freshness checks whether your page shows when it was published or updated, and how old that date is for its topic. An undated or old page is a weaker source on subjects that change.

Reading the result
What good looks like, and what a problem looks like.
Good
A visible, machine-readable date that is recent enough for the topic.
Not measured
When this cannot be checked, the result says so and leaves it out of the score. Unknown is not zero.
Typical problems
- No publication or update date.
- The date is old for the topic.
- An update date set in the future.
What it cannot prove
- How fast a topic changes is a judgement. Without a stated topic, a general standard is applied and the result says so.
- On pages where no date is expected, it is shown as not applicable.
